When we were first hit by the pandemic, our team released a 2-page guide to resources that can support educators in integrating SEL in a virtual world. We have since revised our SEL Integration Approach and our related remote learning guide. As things remain unpredictable, inconsistent, and outside of an educator’s “circle of control”, the practices outlined here support educators in channeling their energy into tangible ways to be responsive in a complex time.
Our nation began this new year more divided than ever. Last week, we saw years of community engagement come to fruition as thousands of people joined the democratic process to elect the first Black man and first Jewish man to represent Georgia in the Senate. On the same day, we witnessed a mob of White rioters invading the Capitol with a minimal police response, underscoring the reality of white privilege in our country.
As we close out a year filled with unexpected challenges, our team at TransformEd wants to take a moment to thank you for your continued partnership and dedication to the transformative power of whole child development.
The word may be so common now as to feel overused but it's true: this has been an unprecedented year, especially in education!
