Addressing the idea of learning loss must go beyond the academic goals we set for students. After years of isolation, trauma, and inconsistency – students and educators across Massachusetts continue to feel the impact of this tumultuous time on their mental health. Educators are eager to address the social and emotional needs of their students. The Rennie Center and Transforming Education led a webinar to help practitioners bridge transformative social-emotional learning strategies into their existing practice that affirm the experiences of students and educators as they continue to grapple with the challenges of this pandemic.

“We must resist thinking in siloed terms when it comes to social-emotional learning (SEL), academics, and equity. Rather, these elements of our work as educators and partners go hand in hand.”
