Editorial Policy and How We Make Money

The rules we hold ourselves to, written so you can check them.

Who writes the content

Our editorial team researches and writes every page. We do not accept guest posts, paid articles or vendor-written content. We do not publish content written to promote a specific school or product.

Sourcing standards

  • Every statistic, percentage, dollar figure, credit count and study is checked against the original source before publication. Sources are listed at the bottom of each page with the date we accessed them.
  • Degree facts (accreditation, licensure pathway, format) are checked on the school's own pages and on the relevant accreditor's directory. We state the date checked and ask readers to confirm with the school before applying.
  • Salary and employment figures come from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Outlook Handbook and are labelled with the data year.
  • Where evidence is mixed, we say so. Where we could not verify a claim, we leave it out.

Review and corrections

Pages carry the date they were last updated. Statistics round-ups are reviewed at least once a year. We correct substantive errors within five working days of confirming them and note the change on the page. Report errors through the contact form.

How we make money

This site is funded by:

  1. Education lead referrals. When a reader requests information from a school through a link in our degree guides, the school or an education marketing network may pay us a fee. Links that pay us carry rel="sponsored" in the page code, and the disclosure bar at the top of every page states this.
  2. Course and book links. Some links to professional development courses or books are affiliate links. We earn a commission if you buy; you pay the same price.
  3. Sponsored listings. A vendor may pay to be listed in a clearly labelled "Sponsored" position. Sponsored listings are never described as recommendations and never appear inside a comparison table as if they were editorial picks.

Toolkits and articles are free and are not sponsored. We do not sell links, publish paid posts, or accept payment to change a rating, ranking or description.

What money cannot buy

  • Inclusion in or exclusion from a comparison.
  • The order of programs in a table (programs are listed alphabetically or by the criteria stated on the page).
  • Removal of a critical statement that is accurate and sourced.

Privacy
